 Russian Libertas Corpus was founded in 2022 as a nonprofit platform to:
Build community among Russian-speaking residents and asylum seekers
Foster dialogue, professional exchange, and grassroots initiatives
Support those fleeing repression with resources for adaptation and growth
Uphold democratic values and counter authoritarian legacies in thought and action

With the generous pro bono legal support of Ropes & Gray LLP, Russian Libertas Corpus was formally incorporated in the United States as a nonprofit organization. This legal foundation enables us to operate with transparency and accountability.

We are also grateful to Amalgamated Bank for their assistance in establishing our organizational accounts, helping us build an ethical and sustainable financial structure from the ground up.

Russian Libertas Corpus was founded in 2022 by like-minded individuals: Aleksei Postnikov, Iurii Kuzminykh, and Galina Bogatova, Ph.D. united by a shared vision for a freer, more just Russian-speaking diaspora.  What brought them together was not just geography or language, but a deep belief that Russian-speaking residents of New York, and beyond, deserve a space to realize their intellectual, civic, and creative potential, to heal from displacement, and to co-create a new, democratic vision of their community and homeland.
